Circa 1886 continues to offer their popular cocktail program, “$5 at 5.” From 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday, guests can select cocktails and wines all costing only $5. Wines will vary and include a choice of sparkling, two white wines and two red wines. In addition, guests are invited to dine at the bar, where the full dinner menu is available.
28th Annual Progressive Dinner

A much-beloved holiday tradition is back this December. For the 28th year in a row, Circa 1886 restaurant and Charming Inns will play host to the “Charleston Holiday Progressive Dinner,” a festive evening where diners journey by carriage to three different locations. Guests are invited to start the evening with hors d’oeuvres at Historic Kings Courtyard Inn at 198 King Street, travel to Circa 1886 restaurant at 149 Wentworth Street for a three-course dinner, and wind down at Historic John Rutledge House Inn at 116 Broad Street for coffee and dessert. Hors d’oeuvres start at 5:30 p.m. and the evening wraps up at 8:30 p.m. A carriage will transport guests from one location to the next. The cost is $95.00 per person, excluding beverages. The Progressive Dinner Package, offered by the historic bed and breakfast John Rutledge House Inn, includes accommodations for two, the Progressive Dinner (excluding room tax and beverages), a rickshaw ride to Kings Courtyard Inn and a Junior League Party Receipts Cookbook. 12th Annual Dickens Dinner

Circa 1886 travels back in time this holiday season to retell a classic Christmas story. At the 12th annual Dickens Dinner, storyteller Tim Lowry will take guests to Victorian England for a lively retelling of English novelist Charles Dickens’ beloved novella, “A Christmas Carol.” The performance is accompanied by a four-course dinner inspired by the novel, prepared by Chef Marc Collins. Cost is $75.00 per person plus gratuity, tax, and beverages. Call to reserve a seat – 843-853-7828.
To complement the dinner, Wentworth Mansion® will offer a special “Christmas Carol” package for two guests from $479, including the Dickens Dinner (which excludes room tax and beverages) and one night’s accommodation.
New Year’s Eve Dinner

Circa 1886 Restaurant celebrates the arrival of 2014 with a festive six-course prix fixe New Year’s Eve dinner on Tuesday, December 31. Cost is $125.00 per person excluding gratuity and tax, and cost includes a complimentary glass of champagne. Other beverages are not included in the cost. Call to reserve a seat – 843-853-7828.
Wentworth Mansion® is also offering a special three-night package, starting at $1,680 (room tax and additional beverages not included), to coincide with the dinner for visitors who want to continue the celebration into the night. It includes dinner for two at Circa 1886 on any night besides Sunday and Wednesday and a bottle of champagne.
Valentine’s Day Dinner

Circa 1886 is continually lauded as one of the most romantic spots in Charleston, and Valentine’s Day dinner at this intimate restaurant is a tradition for many. Diners can enjoy a special six-course prix fixe dinner for $125 per person, excluding beverages, tax and gratuity.

The Anson Mills Grain Dinner

Save room for this amazing event. On Saturday, March 8th, Circa 1886 will host Glenn Roberts of Anson Mills for a very special five-course dinner.
The Anson Mills Grain Dinner pays tribute to South Carolina’s rich culinary roots. Executive Chef Marc Collins says, “This will be a once in a lifetime dinner featuring some items that haven’t been seen in over a hundred years in South Carolina cooking.” Each course will be accompanied by wine, hand selected by Sommelier Mark Severs.
This event takes place during the 2014 Charleston Wine + Food Festival weekend – a perfect complement to an already delicious lineup.
