Bevi Bene Brewing Co. is a family-owned brewery in Charleston, focusing on lagers and hard kombucha, with a mission to promote well-being through authentically crafted beverages to be enjoyed with friends. Their head brewer uses innovative recipes and local South Carolina ingredients when possible. The brewery has an outdoor patio, cards and board games, and lots of plants to add to the chill vibe.

Charleston Beer Works on Upper King Street is a welcoming sports bar with 40 beers on tap and made-from-scratch bar food. They offer daily specials Thursday through Friday including happy hour, bar & music bingo, and live music.

Commonhouse Aleworks was named after the colonial period term for a Town Hall— to create a central point that would bring people together. With over 20 different original beers on tap, with unique names such as Light Pollution and Looking East, it’s no surprise this brewery made our list. This brewery, located in the up-and-coming Park Circle area, Commonhouse specializes in pale ales and offers seating inside and on their spacious outdoor patio, it’s also a great hangout to find food trucks like Brunch Holiday.

Edmond’s Oast is a production brewery and taproom restaurant. All of the beers distributed in more than eight states are brewed at this facility. The adjoining taproom restaurant features an all-day casual food menu, 20 house-brewed beers on tap, wine, and cocktails. In addition, you can purchase cans, growlers, growlers, and merchandise to go. They also have an outdoor patio in a large courtyard.

Located in a renovated warehouse, Holy City Brewing serves up more than 20 options on tap each day as well as a filling menu with items such as pimento cheese balls and falafel burgers. This brewery is one of the most famous breweries in Charleston. The taproom is attached to the brewery, which they offer a free tour of their brewery upon request. Holy City Brewery has created over 100 different beers and plans on expanding to Park Circle in 2019. Holy City Brewery is a Charleston beer staple, an absolute must for beer lovers in the Holy City.

Munkle Brewing Co. has a quaint taproom with a focus on Belgian and German-influenced beers. There is a wonderful outside space, with lots of activities for everyone: there is a fire pit, rocking chairs, picnic tables, and various games. In addition, there are often food trucks on site.

Palmetto Brewing was the first licensed brewery to open in South Carolina and offers a warehouse taproom, speakeasy taproom, and courtyard with a variety of entertainment including games, live music, and more! They also offer burgers, salads, and several sides.

Revelry Brewing has a tasting room, outdoor patio, and a rooftop bar. In addition to dozens of beers, there is a permanent food truck on site serving Latin and Asian-inspired dishes. If beer isn’t your thing, you can enjoy a variety of wines and ciders.

Rusty Bull has two locations and both have many great beers, food, and events like music bingo, live music, and trivia nights. Their production facility is in North Charleston where you will find the widest selection of beers and their location on King Street is the only taproom in the historic district.
